4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph
23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS.
5.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description, conform to the producer's own drawings,
specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and to be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance.
5.2 Visual examination. Each item shall be examined for the defects listed below. Defects. Not free of burrs, rough spots, sharp edges, slivers, flat areas or projections; any
component missing or not specified type; any component fractured, split, dented, bowed,
malformed, damaged or loose; the four drilled holes not free of sharp edges; not smooth and continuous; markings in wrong locations, incomplete, illegible, or not as specified.
5.3 Dimensional examination. The stoppers shall be measured as described in paragraph
2 without damaging or disassembling the stoppers. Any dimension not within the
specified tolerances shall be classified as a defect.
5.4 Acceptance criteria. Acceptance criteria shall be as specified in the contract or purchase order.
6. PACKAGING.
6.1 Preservation, packing, and marking. The preservation, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
