COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
BELT, MILITARY POLICE (WHITE)
This Commercial Item Description is authorized for use in preference to MIL-B-21880.
1. ABSTRACT.
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description covers the requirements for one type of white woven adjustable belt used by Navy personnel performing duties as military police, honor guard, and at other specified occasions.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
2.1 Design and construction. The belt shall be of white cotton webbing having two slide keepers, a female snap fastener and a hook type belt closure. It shall have an adjustable buckle enabling an adjustment range of the finished belt from 25 inches to 42 inches in length.
2.1.1 Webbing. The webbing for the belt shall be bleached white, 2-1/4 inches wide, 3.40 minimum ounces per linear yard, conforming to type IV, class 2 of MIL-U-530.
2.1.2 Tape. The tape for binding the ends of the belt shall be bleached white, 7/8 or 1 inch wide, conforming to type I, class 2 of MIL-T-43566.
2.1.3 Thread. The thread for seaming and stitching shall be bleached white, 3 ply, heavy cotton of sufficient size and strength for the intended applications.
