In order to provide the desired protection, the spectacles must be cared for and used
properly. Always keep the spectacles in their case when not being used. To clean the lenses,
first remove all dust and dirt with a soft, dry cloth, then clean with a moist cloth or by
steaming with breath. Dry lenses with a soft, clean, unimpregnated facial tissue or lint-free
cloth. If the spectacles are damaged, do not use them.
Each pair of spectacles is a controlled item and should be disposed of in accordance with
designated maintenance manual procedures.

THESE SPECTACLES DO NOT PROTECT AGAINST ALL LASERS.
THESE SPECTACLES ARE NOT INTENDED FOR MAINTENANCE
PERSONNEL OR PERSONNEL USING MAGNIFYING OPTICS
SUCH AS BINOCULARS OR TELESCOPES.
THESE SPECTACLES ARE NOT SUNGLASSES.
4. VERIFICATION
4.1 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified
as follows:
a. First article inspection (see 4.2).
b. Conformance inspection (see 4.3).
c. Conformance verification inspection (see 4.4).
4.2 First article inspection. First article inspection shall consist of performing tests specified
in table II performed on production representative samples after contract award to determine that
the production item meets the requirements of this specification.
